DESCRIPTION:Mission Zero Academy’s partner in Estonia\, Let’s Do It Foundation has launched a new Zero Waste Trainer Course that will start in October. \nApply here for the course. Deadline September 15th. Applicants will be notified of their eligibility for attendance by September 18th. \nWhat will you learn? \n\nThe basics of learning psychology\nHow to teach zero waste topics and skills effectively\nHow to take into account the needs of the learners\nHow to create motivating learning environments\nHow to better assess learning\n\nThe training is based on the Zero Waste Trainer Curriculum. \nWho can apply? \n\nYou are based or work in one of the following countries: Estonia\, Latvia\, Lithuania\, Poland\, Germany\, Denmark\, Finland\, Sweden\nYou have good working knowledge of written and spoken English\nYou work (including volunteering) in the field of waste management\, zero waste\, circular economy or any other sustainability field\nAt least some of your work is focused on local (municipality) level\nYou have a good knowledge of zero waste principles and their practical implementation or you have participated in the Zero Waste Ambassador programme\nYou have some experience in running workshops and other educational activities\n\nWhen? \nThe course will comprise of: \n\nfour weekly online sessions in October; and\na 3-day onsite training in the beginning of November in Tallinn\, Estonia.\n\nOnline sessions\nOct 2nd\, Oct 9th\, Oct 16th\, Oct 23rd\n3pm-6pm CET\nIndividual reading tasks accompany each session \nOn-site training days\n1st-3rd of November in Tallinn\, Estonia. \nFollow-up webinar: 27th of November\, 4pm-5pm CET \nThe cost? \nThe participation is free for applicants with the support of The Council of the Baltic Sea States. Participants must cover their own travelling and accommodation costs. \nAfter the training \nUpon meeting all the requirements the participants will receive a proof of completion. This will give the possibility to apply for the Zero Waste Trainer Certificate (for a separate fee). Certified Ambassadors and Trainers from all across Europe are listed on the Zero Waste Europe’s expert page. An expert certification will give you confidence in carrying out your mission. It also can advance you in your career. SUMMARY:Study Tour - Barcelona region\, Catalonia
DESCRIPTION:Zero Waste Europe is conducting a new study tour in October in Catalonia in collaboration with REZERO. Join us for an exciting three-day field-trip to discover some of the region’s most emblematic zero waste cities and projects. \nVisit: a unique combination of best practices on a tour that brings together two of the most important and discussed topics within local zero waste programmes today: \n\nHow to best collect and treat bio-waste in both urban and rural contexts\nHow to establish effective reuse systems with the support of the wider community\, looking at take-away packaging and WEEE in particular\n\nDiscover:  \n\nInnovative projects that promote food waste prevention\, repair and reuse.  We’ll be visiting reuse packaging pioneers Bumerang and eReuse\, a company that uses the latest digital technologies to enhance the reuse of electronic items\, among other inspiring initiatives.\nThe composting station in Torrelles de Llobregat\, which effectively treats organic and green waste from multiple municipalities in the Barcelona metropolitan area.\nSome of Europe’s best performing zero waste municipalities\, including Argentona which has a separate collection rate of 88% and generates 54kgs of residual waste per person in a year\, and Torrellas de Llobregat which became one of Europe’s first Zero Waste Certified Cities in 2022 and the first in Catalonia.\n\nGet hands-on experience of:  \n\nwhat it takes to set up highly efficient separate collection and recycling systems\, with a particular focus on bio-waste\, as well as what is required to set up an effective reuse system.\nwhat is required to design and implement effective reuse models\, looking at both the role of private enterprises\, associations and local public authorities – examining the key ingredients for a successful partnership between all 3.\n\nReceive expert advice and training on how to best design kerbside organics collection and treatment systems\, reuse policies and broader municipal-led zero waste strategies\,  learnings that you can take back with you and apply in your local context. \nLearn how to implement an efficient bio-waste separate collection system and the benefits it can bring to your municipality through a capacity-building workshop delivered by Zero Waste Europe staff and leading experts\, during which the latest available results and learnings from the BIOBEST project will be shared. \nGet in touch with experts\, civil servants and colleagues from all over Europe to share your experiences and come up with powerful\, innovative new ideas! \nDeadline for registration: 25th September 2023 \nA Special discount of EUR 250 is offered to Cities and Businesses Certified “On The Road” and “Zero Waste Certified” \nRegister Here
