SUMMARY:Zero Waste Ambassador Training | Zero Waste Kiel
DESCRIPTION:Mission Zero Academy’s partner in Germany\, Zero Waste Kiel has launched a new Zero Waste Ambassador Training that will start in December. This is course organised in partnership with Let’t Do It Foundation (lead partner) and Zero Waste Poland. \nApply here for the course. Deadline for application: November 19th. \nThe training is based on the Zero Waste Ambassador Curriculum. \nWho can apply? \n\nYou are based or work in one of the following countries: Denmark\, Germany\, Estonia\, Finland\, Iceland\, Latvia\, Lithuania\, Norway\, Poland or Sweden\nYou have good working knowledge of written and spoken English\nYou work (including volunteering) in the field of waste management\, zero waste\, circular economy or any other sustainability field\nAt least some of your work is focused on local (municipality) level\nYou have in the beginning level of your zero waste journey and want to know more\n\nWhen? \nThe course will comprise of: \n\nPre-session online on the 7th December 2023 (2 hours)\nFour online sessions on 8th\, 9th\, 15th and 16th January 2024 (3 hours each)\nOnsite training in Kiel\, Germany on: 25th\, 26h and 27th of January 2024\nOnline assessment session on 7th February\na 3-day onsite training in the beginning of November in Tallinn\, Estonia.\n\nThere will be individual pre-reading and homework tasks for each session \nThe cost? \nThe participation is free for applicants with the support of The Council of the Baltic Sea States. Participants must cover their own travelling\, dinners and accommodation costs. \nAfter the training \nUpon meeting all the requirements the participants will receive a proof of completion. Certified Ambassadors and Trainers from all across Europe are listed on the Zero Waste Europe’s expert page. An expert certification will give you confidence in carrying out your mission. It also can advance you in your career. Qualified knowledge in implementing circular economy is increasingly sought after in all sectors and various positions. \nApply here!

They are key in guiding any candidate towards achieving the certification. Mentors are the only accredited consultants authorized to deliver Mission Zero Academy Zero Waste Business Certification. Their role as advisors to businesses includes (but is not limited to): \n\nDefining the zero waste strategy.\nAssessing key actions.\nIdentifying best practices and stakeholders.\nEvaluating different solutions.\nCreating communication materials.\nTraining their staff on what zero waste means.\n\nWho can apply?\n\nYou are based or work in Europe\nYou have good working knowledge of written and spoken English\nYou work (includes volunteering) in the field of waste management\, zero waste\, circular economy\, sustainable tourism or any other sustainability field\nAt least some of your work is focused on local level\nYou have zero-waste or circular economy past project experience (Europe-based) and are comfortable delivering projects\n\nThe Zero Waste Business Certification Mentors/Auditors Training Program \nOur program is an interactive online course\, where the majority of the course is based on the learner’s proactive individual work. Every two (2) weeks\, a 2 hour live session is held (attendance is mandatory) to allow for discussion and reflection with the trainer and fellow learners. \nAlthough we may like just reading documents and listening to lectures\, educational science says there are more effective ways to learn. Our training philosophy is based on the principles described in the “Main principles of teaching” chapter in the Zero Waste training Handbook. \nOur curriculum consists of 13 Modules spread over 16 weeks. The training is divided between independent\, self-paced study and live sessions. The learner should commit between 1-3 hours of independent study per module. \nLearners must submit assignments to advance in the course. Assignments related to live sessions shall be submitted 24 hours ahead of the session. Failure to submit will block the learner’s access to the next live session. At the end of the program\, successful leaners will receive their Mission Zero Academy Mentor Accreditation.
