SUMMARY:Circularity in commercial real estate a conversation with Stefanie Behrendt
DESCRIPTION:In this webinar\, we will explore how circular economy principles can be applied to existing commercial buildings to reduce waste\, optimize resource use\, and improve sustainability. We’ll discuss the operational advantages of implementing circular practices\, the evolving regulatory landscape around sustainability\, and how commercial properties can measure and certify their progress in achieving waste reduction and resource efficiency. Attendees will learn how adopting circular strategies can enhance environmental performance while contributing to long-term value and a collaborative mindset in the real estate market. \nJoin us for an insightful webinar exploring how circular economy principles can transform the way we manage waste in existing commercial buildings. In this session\, we will be joined by Stefanie Behrendt\, Co-founder and CEO at WeGoZero\, and Senior Director at Modesta\, who brings a unique blend of expertise in both zero waste initiatives and real estate management. \nAs the real estate industry is responsible for nearly 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions and 30% of global material use\, there is growing pressure for businesses to adopt more sustainable and socially responsible practices. Stefanie will share her insights on how digitization\, urbanization\, and corporate responsibility reshape the built environment\, and how circularity can be applied to existing properties to reduce waste\, optimize resource use\, and create long-term value. \nKey discussion points will include: \n\nHow the real estate industry can embrace circular economy principles in operating buildings.\nThe role of digitization in waste reduction and resource optimization in commercial properties.\nThe evolution of the EU policy landscape (Green Claims\, reporting\, etc.) \nThe intersection of social and environmental corporate responsibility and how it’s influencing real estate.\nStrategies for measuring and certifying progress toward sustainability goals in existing buildings.\nReal-world examples of how businesses can take concrete steps toward zero waste while enhancing efficiency and competitiveness.\n\nStefanie’s extensive experience in real estate management\, combined with her passion for zero waste\, makes this conversation a must-attend for anyone looking to drive sustainability and innovation in the commercial real estate sector. \nSpeaker  \nStefanie Behrendt is the Co-founder and CEO of WeGoZero and Senior Director at Modesta\, where she champions sustainable practices in the real estate industry. With an academic background in real estate management and licenses as a property developer and trustee\, Stefanie combines her expertise in zero waste with her deep knowledge of the built environment. \nPartner  \nWeGoZero is a Zero Waste Consultancy based in Amsterdam transforming organisations waste upstream towards circularity\, ensuring operating within planetary boundaries while making waste a profitable asset.
