How do we make the right choice – reuse – the norm again in Europe?
As of today, consumer systems are still wired to favour disposability over reuse. This happens despite the evidence that, even if we managed to collect and recycle all the waste, it would still be widely unsustainable.
Launched in 2021, the ReuSe Vanguard Project (RSVP) plays a major role in putting reuse systems at the centre of the solutions agenda in Europe and beyond. The project creates the conditions for a large uptake of reusable packaging in the most strategic sectors, such as beverages and take-away food and drinks.
Thanks to this remarkable and ambitious initiative, some of the leading European organisations and experts in the sector have been collaboratively contributing to this change. For example, they have been crucial in designing and implementing a shared but adaptable model for reusable takeaway packaging in major European cities (see our ‘Blueprint’ section and check our RSVP map below).
Through RSVP, we also relentlessly ensure that policymakers and key stakeholders at local, European, and international levels are well-informed about reuse systems and their operational requirements.
