Personal bio

Maïté has been passionate about sustainability for as long as she can remember. Her journey began with volunteering in scouting and working at the Green Office of the University of Ghent. These early experiences paved the way for her role at Re-uz, a reusable cup company, where she spent years mastering the intricacies of reuse systems for various events.

Today, Maïté is proud to bring her expertise to Fair Resource Foundation, an NGO dedicated to keeping resource use within planetary boundaries. In her current role, she channels her knowledge and experience to drive meaningful change in waste prevention and sustainability. Through her involvement with the Zero Waste Europe network, she continues to learn and connect with inspiring individuals who share her vision for a cleaner, healthier, and fairer world.

Outside of her professional work, Maïté enjoys immersing herself in nature, practicing yoga, surfing, or unwinding with a good book or film. She is also deeply interested in personal growth and exploring diverse forms of communication, cherishing the connections she builds with others.

Maïté lives by two guiding principles:

  • “No one can help everyone, but anyone can help somebody.”
