Claire has a scientific background and spent nearly six years working as a consultant at an international consulting firm, specializing in site and soil remediation. In 2016, she began volunteering with the Association Zéro Déchet Lyon, where she discovered her passion for sustainability and advocacy.
At age 30, Claire decided to make a professional shift to focus on the pressing challenges related to natural resources, social equity, climate change, and biodiversity. In 2019, she joined Zéro Déchet Lyon as an Advocacy Officer, where she works to raise awareness and drive action on critical environmental and social issues.

Project experiences
- Zero Waste District Experimentation – 9th District of Lyon (2021–2024) Initiated and co-developed a zero waste district project in collaboration with Zéro Déchet Lyon and Mouvement de Palier, impacting 6,000 residents. Fostered waste reduction by emphasizing diverse benefits such as health, community building, skill-sharing, urban aesthetics, and behavioral nudges. Partnered with the municipality to establish a Zero Waste Public Commission, ensuring sustained engagement and collaboration. Engaged a wide network, including 24 local businesses, schools, municipal facilities, cultural organizations, associations, and residents. Organized events such as repair workshops, upcycling sessions, and gratiferias, preventing over 3.5 tons of residual waste. Gained significant experience in designing and advising on zero-waste territorial and collective strategies for municipalities.
- Advocacy Officer – Zéro Déchet Lyon (Municipal Elections Strategy, 2020) Led the development and implementation of a zero waste strategy during municipal elections, including organizing France's first zero waste election debate, attended by 300 participants. Secured commitments to zero waste actions, which were included in the policy platforms of all candidates. Monitored and influenced local political waste management plans, contributing to the Métropole de Lyon's adoption of a 50% residual waste reduction target. Advocated for reduced incineration capacity, resulting in a 20% reduction decision, aligning with long-term sustainability goals.
- Local Zero Waste Expert – E.R.I.C. Project (2023–Present) Successfully led advocacy efforts with Zero Waste France, persuading the Métropole de Lyon to join the European E.R.I.C. (Elevating Reuse In Cities) project, aimed at developing ambitious local plans for reuse and reducing single-use items. Currently supporting Zero Waste France in the project's implementation, acting as the local zero waste expert. Representing the voices of citizens and local circular economy stakeholders in the ongoing development and execution of reuse solutions in Lyon.
