When we launched in 2021, our goal was to provide the “missing link” between high-level circular economy policy and the practical, on-the-ground expertise needed to make it a reality. Looking back at the last five years, we are humbled by how much we have achieved together with our partners, cities, and experts across Europe.

Since our beginning, we have focused on turning zero waste from a niche concept into a professionalized standard. Our impact so far belongs to the entire MiZA community:
- Scaling Success: We’ve helped dozens of municipalities move through the Zero Waste Cities Certification, proving that systemic change is possible when you have the right roadmap.
- Building a Network of Change-Makers: Through our training and mentoring, we have seen a new generation of zero waste experts emerge—professionals who are now leading waste prevention strategies in their own regions.
- Redefining the Standard: We have worked tirelessly to ensure that “zero waste” isn’t just a buzzword, but a rigorous, audited process that brings environmental and economic benefits to local communities.
